Acorn Table Queen Squash Seeds
Acorn squash seeds are some of the most popular of the winter squash seed varieties and some of the easiest to care for, as they are relatively low maintenance. However, they do require rich soil to accommodate those “heavy feeder†appetites. The seeds of the award-winning bush variety “Table Queen†squash can be planted much closer together than your average squash, at approximately 8 to 10’ apart in rows 10 to 12’ apart. They take just 80 days to mature, which makes them one of the most vigorously efficient squash plants. Table Queen acorn squash can be harvested when the stem begins to dry out, they are firmly ripe, and the shell is difficult to puncture with your fingernail, preferably before hard frost. The sweet golden flesh can be described as slightly sweet and mildly buttery, and it is thoroughly enjoyable when baked with butter and sprinkled with salt and pepper.
