Jack O Lantern Pumpkin Growing Season
Jack O Lantern pumpkins are warm-weather plants and should be planted in the late spring, two weeks after the last frost of the season. You should plant your Jack O Lantern pumpkin seeds directly in the soil, leaving plenty of room for your pumpkins to spread out and grow. Sow your pumpkins in groups of four to six seeds, about 3 inches apart. Each cluster of pumpkins should be about 4 to 6 feet apart.
On average, it takes 110 days for Jack O Lantern pumpkins to reach maturity, and you will know when your pumpkins are ready to harvest when the plant has a 72” spread and is 12” to 18” tall, or when the pumpkin weighs between 18 to 24 pounds.
