Chive Plant Seeds
Chives are a wonderful addition to your herb collection. With mild onion-flavored, grass-like leaves, this herb is ideal for ornamental enjoyment while also making a lovely culinary addition once harvested. Some of our favorite ways to incorporate herb chives in dishes include adding them to soups, dips, or salads, or even steeping them as tea to be enjoyed for medicinal benefits. Chives are hardy, resilient, and easy-to-grow plants that can thrive in windowsill pots just as well as in the ground, so long as they have enough sun and rich, well-drained soil. Chive seeds can be sown in the garden as early as four to six weeks before the last frost in spring and will mature in approximately 80 days. Be sure to harvest chives from the base of the plant to encourage healthy new growth, and use this freshly harvested herb immediately for garnish or in your recipes for ultimate flavor.
