Bought this for a new gate. When latch is in up position (open) it is not weighed to close on its own. Also the angle or cut was not able to latch properly. With a metal cutting wheel I was able to recut the sides so the gate post would slide the latch up and lock properly. I also inserted a small piece of lead weight under the latch to inhibit the latch from opening straight up. These 2 mods have made the latch work prefectly. I should not have to modify a brand new part. Return shipping was not worth the time or hassle.
